Meet abu.
Abu was born in Kenya and moved to Toronto at an early age, where he was raised. From a young age, he was drawn to game development, a passion that naturally led him into graphic design, branding, and video editing. During high school, he competed in Skills Canada’s Graphic Design Technology contest, earning consecutive gold medals in grades 11 and 12. This achievement propelled him into freelancing, where he worked on branding, graphic design, and video editing projects, bringing ideas to life for clients across various industries.
His journey took an unexpected turn when he began working as a portrait photographer, traveling across Ontario to capture graduates on one of the most significant days of their lives. The experience was both repetitive and new—each session a fresh opportunity to freeze a moment of pride, joy, and accomplishment. It was through this work that he fell in love with photography, realizing its power to create lasting memories.
What started as a side passion quickly became an integral part of his creative journey. Shot by Abu is more than a portfolio—it’s a collection of stories, experiences, and moments that define his artistic path.
